Guardia vieja tango
Guardia Vieja is a Tango Quartet who combines the sounds of the Guardia Vieja style with the personality and fantasy of the Golden Age of Tango.
The warm sound of the clarinet, very characteristic of the origins of Tango, is associated with the lyricism of the orchestras from the 1940s and 1950s, such as those of Carlos Di Sarli, Anibal Troilo or Juan D’Arienzo.
From the beginning of the Tango, the clarinet was one of the instruments that shape its history. From the oldest formations, around 1870, through the orchestra of Francisco Canaro, Francisco Lomuto, Los Muchachos de Antes and the bass clarinet in Horacio Salgán orchestra, the clarinet, with its expressive and velvety timbre, remains associated of the destiny of Tango.
Guardia Vieja proposes a Tango inspired by a refined and nuanced music. The Quartet performs as well in Milongas, to accompany balls, on a concerts , and in any other event where the Tango is at the rendezvous.
With Guardia Vieja, the Tango is listened, danced… lived.
